  1. How to make a reservation
    • You have found the location of the accommodation you like in our online catalogue.
You will need to fill in a request form and mail it to us, this is free of obligation.
This is found through the "request form" button in the page where you located the accommodation you would like to have.
(Each accommodation has its own page).
Within 24 hours (except on Sundays) you will receive an e-mail or phone call with information about the availability of the accommodation also free of obligation.
As soon as you have made the decision on the available location you would like us to reserve, we will be needing two things from you:
      - a copy of your identification document.*
      - a down payment.**
    • To conclude the reservation we will need to know at what time you will be arriving at the address so that we can inform the host.
    • The reservation confirmation form with the information about the location and its surroundings (public transportation, etc) will be sent to you through the mail. On this form you will find the information about the remaining amount to be paid directly to the host at the moment of arrival.
    * You can send a copy by fax, e-mail or mail.
** The down payment may be done through VISA, EUROCARD, MASTERCARD, American Express. You can do this at your personal CityMundo page, which is a secure web page.

When you have made the reservation:

Each reservation form will contain the time of arrival at the location address that you have agreed on with CityMundo at the moment the reservation was booked.
The host will be expecting you to arrive at that time.
If any changes are made concerning the time of arrival, please contact the CityMundo office or the host beforehand.

Under the title "payment host*", you will find the amount that is to be paid to the host in local currency upon arrival.

All accommodation offered by CityMundo, whether it's an independent house, a studio or a room in a house, is privately owned. Therefore, we kindly ask you to respect this hospitality and take any eventual house rules into consideration.

All accommodation includes linen and towels. Accommodation with a kitchen will also include kitchen linen.

  2. How do I pay for my reservation?
Payment is always made in two instalments:
    • The down payment is made by credit card online when the reservation is made and consists of 25% of the total amount + € 20 reservation costs;
    • The remainder is paid upon arrival at the accommodation reserved and consists of 75% of the total amount.
  3. What do I pay for an accompanying child?
    • Children younger than 3 years old: one child for free, a second child the normal price for 1 person.
    • Children of 3 and 4 years old: one child for free if you bring your own travel cot; otherwise the normal price for 1 person.
    • Children of 5 years and older: the normal price for 1 person.
  4. What do I pay when I travel alone?
You pay for each unit of accommodation at least the price for the minimum number of persons for whom that accommodation applies.
  5. Is it possible to reserve for fewer than 3 nights?
It is possible to stay for fewer than 3 nights, but you will still have to pay the amount for 3 nights, as this is the minimum price.
  6. Is it possible to reserve for more than 21 nights?
    No, that is not possible.
  7. What happens when I want to cancel the reservation?
That depends on when you cancel:
    • When you cancel at the latest on the working day* prior to the reserved period commencing and cancel the reservation in writing (Meaning that the written cancellation must have been received by CityMundo at the latest on the working day* prior to the reserved period commencing), the down payment shall serve as cancellation charge.
    • When you cancel after the reservation has commenced, you will be due the entire amount (down payment + remainder).
  8. What happens when I want to alter a reservation that has already been made?
That depends on when you notify the change. Changes are possible when you notify in writing at the latest on the working day* prior to commencement of the reserved period that you want to change the reservation. This means that the written request for change must have been received by CityMundo at the latest on the working day* prior to the reserved period commencing.
When you want to change the reservation after the reservation has commenced, then the only changes possible are I and III.
See hereunder the various types of change:
    Different number of guests
    1. I want to come with more people than for whom I have reserved:
The existing reservation will be maintained and a new reservation made for the extra guests. The price per person per night for these new guests is the price per person per night that applies for the total number of guests for both reservations.
Example: When the existing reservation was for 2 persons and 2 more persons come, then for the second reservation the price per person for the second reservation will be the price for 4 persons (2+2). € 20 reservation costs will also be charged for the new reservation.
    2. I want to come with fewer people than I have reserved for.
The existing reservation will be cancelled and a new reservation made. The cancellation costs charged will be the difference between the down payment on the cancelled reservation and the down payment on the new reservation. € 20 reservation costs will also be charged for the new reservation.
      Other dates
    3. I want to stay for longer than I have reserved:
The existing reservation will be maintained and a new reservation made for the extra nights.
The price will be determined by the number of nights per reservation.
Example: When the existing reservation was for 6 nights and this reservation is extended by 3 nights then the price will be the price for a reservation for 6 nights and the price for a reservation of 3 nights, and not the price for a reservation for 9 nights.
€ 20 reservation costs will also be charged for the new reservation.
    4. I want to stay for a shorter period than I have reserved:
The existing reservation will be cancelled and a new reservation made.
The cancellation costs charged will be the difference between the down payment on the cancelled reservation and the down payment on the new reservation.
€ 20 reservation costs will also be charged for the new reservation.
    5. I want to shift my reservation to other dates
The existing reservation will be cancelled and a new reservation made.
When the cancelled reservation and the new reservation have overlapping dates, then the down payment for the overlapping dates will be deducted from the down payment for the new reservation.
€20 reservation costs will also be charged for the new reservation. Other accommodation
    6. If I should like accommodation other than what I have reserved:
This is not deemed to be a change.
The existing reservation will be cancelled, see 6. A new reservation will be made.
  9. How should I pay when I have no credit card?
You can pay at the post office, but the post office will charge a fee of approximately 15 Euro.
You can also use the credit card of a travelling companion. We shall then require his or her name, address and telephone number.
  10. Can I park easily?
You will find the answer on www.bereikbaaramsterdam.nl
  11. Can I bring domestic animals?
In general no, but there are a few accommodation units where you may.
Please ask when applying for your reservation.
  12. Do I have to pay a deposit?
No. There is however one exception: For some accommodation units the access door(s) are fitted with system locks. Reproducing the keys for these locks is painstaking and expensive. A deposit of some € 50 per set is generally required for these keys. This deposit will be returned to you upon departure.
