11/01 If you want to stay in Amsterdam during Queen's Day and the night before (April 29 and 30), try to make your reservation as soon as possible.
Queen's Day is celebrated throughout the city. It starts the evening of April 29, Queen's Night (Dutch: Koninginnenacht). The next morning there is a large 'freemarket', anyone can sell stuff on the street. Other activities are children's games, especially in the Vondelpark, across the streets there are individual musical performances and concerts. The whole city is filled with revelers, so transport by car or public transportation is not possible. Queen's Day attracts more and more visits from abroad.
