Karin Ehlert Germany (03/04/2012) "Wir haben als Paar ein paar Tage rund um Sylvester in Amsterdam verbracht. Das Boot haben wir genau so vorgefunden wie beschrieben. Zu zweit ist dieses Boot perfekt, überschaubar und doch geräumig. Ein Traum ist das Bett mit Blick aus dem Bullauge. Die Übergabe wurde von einer netten jungen Frau gemacht und hat bestens geklappt. Absolut optimal ist die Lage des Bootes, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten in Amsterdam sind zu Fuß zu erreichen und torzdem liegt das Boot ruhig vom Allstadtlärm. Gerne kommen wir wieder, vielleicht im Sommer um auch das Deck zu nutzen. "

We stayed here in February and temperatures were -8 degrees but the boat was still nice and warm! Loved the idea of staying on the canal rather than a standard hotel, especially when it was much better value than a tiny hotel room. Very close to the centre and the train station which made it very convenient. There's also a large shopping centre about 10 mins walk away which was great for picking up waffles and croissants for breakfast! "

It was exactly what we were hoping for when we booked it. The location is perfect very close to the center of the city but in a very quiet street. The house is very clean and warm. We made a leisurely breakfast every morning, enjoyed wine and stroopwaffles on the deck in the late afternoon after exploring the city on the bikes that are available to rent. There was a problem with the hot water heater but it was immediately resolved once i called them. Staying in a houseboat is such a fun way to experience Amsterdam! "

It was the ideal size for a couple (although a family with smaller children could also fit comfortably), and having a kitchen was a bonus. The location of the boat is possibly our favorite part- it is about a 5-10 minute walk from the craziness of Dam Square & the very touristy areas surrounding the Red Light District. As New Yorkers, it was like staying the perfect distance from Times Square: close enough to see & get to everything, but so quiet & peaceful when you want it to be. The proximity to Nieuwmarkt- just a short walk across the canal- makes grocery shopping & restaurant searching a breeze. Having wi-fi onboard was a tremendous help in cutting down on our visits to internet cafes. When we come back to Amsterdam, we will most certainly stay here!"

We chose the house boat after looking at other types of accommodation and other house boats as it was ideally located, close to Central Station but just far enough from the centre of the city to be reasonably quiet and it proved to be so. The boat itself is cosy and clean, with more than enough space for two people to spend a comfortable stay. Although the settee will make into a second bed, it is in the main living area so wouldn't always suit families or if sharing with others. We had a problem with the shower which was rectified immediately after talking to the owner. The only "extras" which we would suggest for the future would be a toaster and a few more kitchen utensils. We would thoroughly recommend this boat to anybody wanting simple, comfortable self catering accommodation in Amsterdam. Andrew & Carol from Huddersfield July 2010 "
