Who would not like to stay between a protected meadow area and the IJsselmeer-lake, near the center of Amsterdam: Durgerdam, former fishing village on the Zuiderzee, is one of the last unspoiled dike villages. With its characteristic wooden buildings it constitutes a pleasant oasis just outside the hectic Amsterdam.
This beautifully restored 17th century monument is a typical Fisherman's Cottage, overlooking the IJsselmeer. The interior is traditional. At the dam level it’s original format is largely intact. The spacious ground floor behind the dike is nice and warm in winter and cool in summer. The first floor is cozy under the high roof.
The front room, the villagers call the "library", provides a magnificent view of the IJsselmeer. The back can either serve as a bedroom or workspace. The small side room can serve as a bedroom. There is a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet.
Downstairs is a spacious kitchen with doors to the garden.
First floor: two bedrooms, bathroom with bath, shower and toilet.
Free parking. WiFi internet available. Distance to the center of Amsterdam (Central Station) is approximately 30 minutes by bicycle.
Suitable for 2 - 4 persons, no smoking
